Parade thru Downtown Big Spring
Preston Harrison is the Contact Person for the parade. For
those interested, on Sept 14 & 15 (Wed & Thurs.) night, there will be
decorations from7:00 - 10:00 PM on the float at 200 Owens Street (yellow shop
w/blue trim). If you will be in town by this time, please join us for the parade
at 4:00ish. The meeting place is not set at this time.
Football
Game
As of the date of this posting, the section we
will be sitting in has not been determined. Please check back closer to the
reunion for this information. Tickets can be purchased at the high school on
friday, or at the gate just prior to the game.
After Game Party
Tommy Gartman has graciously invited us to hold the party at his new place, the
Brew Pub (in the old Brandin' Iron on the hill). Your $8.00 fee covers admission
and appetizers. Home brewed in his
microbrewery, several types of beer are for sell ... as well as the normal name
brands. If you prefer mixed drinks, you may purchase set ups and bring your own
liquor.
Reunion GOLF Information
Golf will be on Saturday, Sept. 17th at
Comanche Trail Golf Course. The reserved t-times for our class
are in 10 minute intervals starting at 8:00 am (i.e. 8:00, 8:10, 8:20, etc..)
until 9:00 am. Times will be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis when you
send in your registration and fees for the reunion.
Cost is $28.75 per person and includes 18 holes of golf and 1/2 a cart. There will be no refunds. There will be 4 person teams - if you don't care who your with, Lori (Griffith) Skinner will team you with someone, or you may request your own team. No ice chest - no beer. They sell alcohol.
Family Picnic Information
The Family Picnic will begin around 12:00 (or
whenever you finish playing golf) until 1:30 or whenever you get ready for your
afternoon nap! There will be hotdogs, chips, and drinks. The picnic is right
next to the Kids Zone so the kids can have a blast while the grown-ups visit
(man, that makes us sound old, doesn't it?). There are two meal sizes available
... for $4 you will get 2 hotdogs, chips, drink, and dessert ... and for $3 you
will get 1 hotdog, chips, drink and dessert.
BBQ Dinner
The dinner will be held at the Community Tennis Center in Comanche
Trail Park (same place as our 10th reunion- for those who remember back that
far). The cost of $10 per person for the meal covers a catered BBQ dinner from
the famous Al's BBQ. It will consist of four meats, potato salad, bread,
and drink. The dinner is for adults only and is casual attire.
Dance
The dance will start about 8:30, for those who cannot attend the dinner and have
to come later. The $15 per person for the dance covers the cost of the rental of
the center and tea, water, lemonade, and snacks. Our very own Vince Solis will
be our DJ and he promises to bring back some old memories with the music! Awards
will be given out for several categories, and everyone will have the opportunity
to vote during dinner. Alcohol is BYOB and one extra for a friend! We are asking
everyone to chip in and lend a hand at the end of the night and help clean up to
cut down on the expense of the rental!
